4 WAYS TO USE TEA TREE OIL FOR YOUR HAIR AND SKIN

Tea Tree oil is an essential oil distilled from the leaves of the Australian Melaleuca alternifolia tree. It was originally used for medicinal purposes by the Aborigines. Today, tea tree is used in a range of products for your hair and skin. It's an affordable oil with a variety of health benefits.

Ways to use tea tree oil:

2. Get rid of dandruff

Tea tree oil is anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory and it's super soothing for your scalp. For best results add five to seven drops to half a cup of water and spray it onto your scalp, or add a couple of drops to your conditioner and let it sit on your scalp for a few minutes before rinsing it out and styling as usual. 3. Fight acne and soothe skin
As tea tree oil is a natural anti-bacterial it can help to disinfect skin, unblock the sebaceous glands, unclog pores and soothe irritated skin. In fact, studies have shown that it can be just as effective as using benzoyl peroxide an ingredient commonly found in acne dermatological products. To safely use tea tree oil mix it with a carrier oil such as olive oil first, you'll need about two drops to 12 drops of your carrier. We also recommend conducting a patch test first to ensure that you aren't allergic. (KEY TIP: Once you've mixed up your oils, tea tree oil can also be used to treat other areas of irritated skin all over your body).

4. Make your own mouthwash
You can mix a couple of drops into some water and use tea tree oil to wash your mouth out. While tea tree oil won't combat plaque, it can help to reduce bad breath and tooth decay!

This list is only a short amount of things that tea tree oil can be used for. Let us know what you use tea tree for down in the comments and if you haven't already pick up some tea tree oil today!
